Sometimes its easy to assume places will have what you consider a basic amenity (i.e. Make a list of every amenity you need during your stay and make sure the place you're looking at actually has it explicitly listed. If you can afford it, make sure you're getting the "entire place" under type of place. Generally speaking, it's been a positive experience, but the quality of the places/ hosts does fluctuate. I've spent the better part of a year moving from Airbnb to Airbnb every 5 weeks or so. The type of projects I work on usually last 4-5 weeks, and the company is a national chain.
